ENTMOUNT

We should work on getting together somewhere . With your background you'll have no problem learning the ropes.

You should definitely get the basic gear and learn the knots before going up. Keep reading , it never hurts and theres a lot of good info out there.

Try the DVD - Tree Climbing Basics found on this website. It's an excellent start.

Get the Tree Climber's Companion. It has great easy to read and visualize drawings of all types of set ups and knots etc. Very nice book for the price. Most Arborist suppliers sells them for around $15 bucks--get one. I would suggest getting Peter Jenking's Video and look it over it a few times great basic learning tool.

Rigging book: Get Brion Toss's "The Complete Rigger's Apprentice."

Its thrust is nautical issues, but don't let that keep you from getting this fine book. There's more in there than you'll ever need to know!

Peace.
