For those of us flying to Georgia, we will need ground transportation.

1. Is there an airport shuttle bus company that you would recommend?

2. Or, is anyone planning ride sharing? I would be happy to pay for a ride.

I will arrive ATL at 4PM on 9/24 and will need to be at ATL by 2PM on 9/29.

Hi everybody,

I will be sending out information about Rendezvous transportation as soon as I have time to pull it together. Ride sharing messages like these are great, as there is no public shuttle directly to Simpsonwood. If you can arrange to meet up with others at the airport to share a vehicle it will make travelling alot easier. Nobody will need a vehicle once you get to the site. I'll try to figure out some way to make it easier to do ride sharing. Any suggestions? Volunteers to help with this task?

In reading these posts a thought occurred to me that has merit to share for comments and concerns.

Participants arriving at ATL airport can ride the MARTA train all the way out to Doraville. According to the website trains arrive every 10 to 15 minutes weekdays and every 20 minutes weekends.

The train color is Orange and is called Northeast-South line and Doraville is NE7; and the ATL is S7. Time onboard is about 16 minutes and driving thru town in the interstates will be challenging.

On Monday a representative of _style_ Taxi Company is to call me with a quote for shuttle service using a passenger van to shuttle from Doraville station to the Simpsonwood conference center, a 12 mile ride.

They post a charter service fee of $165 for 3 hours so on the day of departure when a large group may need to get to the airport they could have full vans. Arrival is a little harder were arrival times are random but today’s delays in all airport travel I hate to say it but get used to standing in line.

I can see a message board for air bound Rendezvous participants sharing trip arrival times and sharing an inbound van that they have reserved.

I will work the plan if the needed so let us know what you think.
