Those trees out there on the Olympic Peninsula sound like they'd be a blast. I wish I could be there, but the distance from Dawsonville, Ga. is a little too far for a weekend when I have to be at work on Monday. It's particularly difficult when I'm saving every extra penny for a 10-day climb in January down at the Institute for Tropical Ecology and Conservation outside Bocas del Toro, Panama.

Then here's to the oak, the brave old oak,
Who stands in his pride alone!
And still flourish he, a hale green tree,
When a hundred years are gone!
