Get in touch with Erik (EKKA) at TreeWorld.com in Brisbane and he can point you some directions to get some proper training. Their site is mostly targeted to Arborist work but they can point you in the right direction in your area.

I've made contact with a crew in brizzy, and they've just given me a lead up north .. lets hope this equates to me learning how to climb trees soon enough.

I know there are heaps of people into tree climbing down south, especially in the activist circles...
