I hear you Greg on all counts. I thought I was going to die yesterday, well... I exaggerate but it was a tough landing. Great to meet you in tree time and looking forward to the next.

Yeah, great time climbing Monday morning. And thanks again for rescuing my line. Say, I have a friend from Reed who lives in Shelburne Falls, and I'm due for a trip out there in the next year or so—maybe we could go climbing in the Berkshires. That wouldn't suck.

Everything that was to happen had happened and everything that was to be seen had gone. It was now one of those moments when nothing remains but an opening in the sky and a story—and maybe something of a poem. Norman Maclean

Thanks so much to all for a great weekend. The best part was meeting everyone and climbing with a great group of people.

We took a drive up to Rocky Mtns Natl Park after the Rendezvous (thanks for the suggestion Tom!). You can't climb trees above 12,000 feet - there are none!

I will post a _link_ to pictures Barbara took tomorrow.

Can't wait 'til next year!

Tree Climbing Rendezvous 2007 1 Year, 2 Months ago
Hi all,
Well another amazing Rendezvous--thank you Harv so
much. Once again, as I reported from last year, it is
truly a privilege to climb with such experienced
climbers and to be among all of you who show such
respect for the trees. Without you I would have never
made it to the treetops. I look forward to seeing the
pictures of all the legendaries lined up on the
balcony of the Calwood lodge.
My very last climb on Monday was to the very treetop
of a Ponderosa pine with my arms toward the sky. That was my first experience to be above a tree like that--and WOW, what a way to end it for me.
The blindfold climb this year made me
realize that "I 'SEE' better being blindfolded"!!! When one experiences ones senses at a level never experienced before, there are no words to this experience--truly no words. Only nature understands that experience and is saying to us "What's the big deal it was there all along!!!"
I will be late in getting my pictures out as I am
headed to my Wilderness Awareness School tomorrow. My
knees are shaking as I head out but I am ready. This
rendezvous week was a great send-off for me. Thank you,
thank you, Carolyn

Here are some low-res photos from the rendezvous. I'll put the high-res versions on the CD. In the meantime, if you want a high-res shot emailed to you, just let me know. I'll probably email some to you anyway if I think you'll want them.

Thanks for posting those Cliff, Barbara did very well with her new camera.

I've climbed twice since the Rendezvous, trying to keep the spirit going, facilitated 3 people today. One was a young guy who just walked up to the tree and said "I'm a tree climber". He invented his own rope technique, home grown SRT. I got him into an NT saddle and hooked him up DRT and off he went to the top of his TIP. He was psyched, another climber passionate about being in trees, another great day.
