Best website for knots... 1 Year ago
Don't know about anyone else but I'm always looking for a website/book that is detailed in knot tying. The last search was to find instructions for a nail knot for my flyfishing line. Then I needed to review a Figure 8 Follow Through for a Double Daisy rope. I'm certain there are better but I love: http://www.animatedknots.com/fig8followrescue/index.php
I was especially impressed that it showed knots from different callings and the animation is nice.
Anyone know of a better one?
Randy

Randy--

Grog's site is a really nice one--I have recommended it to a number of people (especially instructors and students).

Alan Folsom's knot tying page is also decent (though perhaps not as pretty as Grog's page). Here's the _link_:

Howdy Folks!

I have also been a big fan of Grog's animated knots and have passed it along many times.

There's another good photo illustrated knot page that provides a good reference at:

Has anybody searched Youtube yet?

Seems like a bit of everything is on there.

Thanks for that, Eric. Beyond the main part, w/photos, under Contributions
are some interesting uncommon, good knots, too!

Another site, yet to be cited here, is by Dave Root:
