What gear do you use? 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
hello dudes,

I was wondering what type or rope, descenders, harness, biners, and all other stuff do you use.

I just wanted to see the most popular types of gear

Hazeman,
You might want to be more specific with your question. If someone asked you the same question about rock climbing gear, where would you start? There's too much ground to cover with such a broad sweeping question. Maybe you need to do a little research here and ask a more focused question we can get our minds wrapped around. Let's say you asked about rope. That subject has been discussed about in length here. Better to find the thread and read before asking a repeat question. Possibly read a tree climbing book (Climbers Companion is good) or view the DVD to get a good grounding.

Haz, do a search here in the "Gear Reviews" we had the same discussion a few months back and every climber posted their favorites for every set up. (DRT, DbRT,SRT, DREC, etc. Also, if you visit the TCC site and do the same search there is a lot of info there also.

Edit: Treeman's idea of the TCI Video is great to get the grasp the basic climbing procedures and safety issues that are the basics to proper safe climbing. I highly recommend it to all new and experienced climbers to get a copy and watch it from time to time or while teaching a new climber.
