This was my first climbing rope. It's a beautiful rope out of the bag, very soft in the hand. After it breaks in it tends to harden up. After it's broken in I find that it tends to seize up a Blake's Hitch when tied into itself in a traditional closed loop DRT system. I find it best for a closed hitch (or "advanced hitch") split tail for DRT climbing. I find it to be a bit heavy compared to the 11mm ropes. I used it for a long lanyard and found it to still be too heavy. Work climbers like it for its low stretch, as a rec climber I like the slight give that the other 11mm ropes seem to have, not as hard on the body.

This rope is soft, light, and strong. I use primarily SRT and it works great with mechanical ascenders and belay devices. The softness seems to help untie weighted knots (typically a figure 8).

I have the bright green color which, as one reviewer noted, helps a lot to check placement after shooting up a throw bag. My next rope purchase will probably be the Poison Ivy camouflage color, however as I've done some public parks climbing where I like to be a little less obvious.

I consider this my "premium" rope, and tend to not use it on wet days or sappy trees because I hate to get it dirty.

I adore my poison hi-vy. It is a very pleasant rope to use, both aesthetically and practically. I have never encountered an issue with it in most weather conditions that I would even want to climb in. I have used it extensively for both SRT and DRT, mostly blake's hitch with DRT, and often with a 10mm bee-line split tail. I have noticed very little wear on the rope ends where hitches get tied, and would recommend this rope to anyone. I honestly really love tying and untying knots in this rope.

this rope is great but honesy a little thin and a little slippery, its made primarily for those who love mechanical ascent because of the kermantle core which reduces stretch in the line, making every stride more efficiant than older non kermantle ropes. it does work great for srt climbing using hand ascenders and a pantin. but it doesnt respond as well as i would like it to to most eye to eye split tails but only whille using the v.t. knot, the marvin knot seems to do okay with it. all in all it a great product and best of both worlds type of rope for split tail climbing and srt climbing

This rope is great. It is relatively light weight and great for taking into the woods for a quiet day climb. With double rope technique, the knots slide smoothly and never slip. I would recommend this rope to any climber.
