... so I haven't used enough gear to make the kind of comparisons needed to write useful reviews, for the most part. However, I have tried several helmets, and I like this one best. I assume that any of the popular helmets will do the job, so I'm primarily interested in comfort, and this helmet is far and away the most comfortable for me. It also adjusts easily and ventilates well. Thanks, Becki. ;)

Agree with Nick, always ends up a little cock-eyed, but what helmet doesn't? Really like the two adjustment knobs. Great for climbers with lots of hair, for my facilitated climbs not me :-), the two adjusters don't seem to tangle in hair like the single back adjustment does with other helmets.

This is an alpine rated helmet which means if you take a hit on the head you can probably keep on using it if it otherwise passes inspection and isn't cracked. Most rock helmets that are not alpine rated are lighter but are designed to absorb only one significant hit and they're done.

This was my first helmet. I bought one about 5 years ago. The only thing I never liked about it is that I couldn't seem to get it to sit straight on the top of my head. It always wanted to flop to the left or the right. I think this is because the helmet is rounder than my head is.

Other than that- it is easy to adjust, the ventilation helps keep you cool, the foam pad is resilient, and most importantly, it takes stickers well!

This helmet is not the lightest on the market, so keep that in mind.

love

Comfortable, esay to use and reasonably priced. I incorporate a small folded shop towel inside the brim to collect the sweat and keep my face dry during hot weather. I never climb without my helmet. Highly recommended gear for all climbers.
