Climbing trees tends to produce small amounts of bark, twigs, seeds, etc. that fall from the tree or climber's shoes and ropes. TCI recommends that climbers wear safety glasses for eye protection from this falling debris. Industrial safety glasses are inexpensive and can be found at any hardware or arborist supply store. Sunglasses are not acceptable, as they are often quite expensive and not made to protect the eyes from falling objects.
