Well I am new to climbing and trying to learn. I went up the tree about 40 foot and on the way up I made little foot holds by not cutting the branch flush. Well tied my rigging rope and cut the top out. The tree swayed a lot which I expected but did not expect all the footholds I created jab me forcefully(many bruises and swelling). I am talking about 1,2,3, jab to the gut and legs. I took a beaten on that one. Lesson learned :)

UPDATE:

Finished this job today. Hard work but everything turned out great. Check out the before and after pics. Tomorrow we will plant steeplechase arborvitaes in place of the Leylands we just removed.
