And, hey, just for the record, I need only 37 feet of vertical climbing to reach a milestone: Sometime today I'll reach and pass 10 miles or 52,800 feet of vertical climbing. I just felt like bragging a little bit.

It was an exceptionally easy climb, since I had returned to the first tree I ever scaled with ropes for this event. Unfortunately, when I got to the top there were no 250-pound white-clad waitresses from the Waffle House waiting to pour my coffee. Ah, well; better luck next time...!

I know the tree we are talking about here, and I can assure you that if Wild Bill's favorite waitress had shown up with coffee, the tree would have broken under the weight strain. That cup of coffee can get pretty heavy, believe me!
