if the datum is wrong the coords are wrong. Nick your phone...er, gpsr prolly gives you coords in NAD83 anyhow. Just post and I'll check the data for you.

This site seems to quickly convert lon/lat coordinated to UTM. I don't know if it's any good since I don't know what it's supposed to look like, but it converted

which I input as

and it gave me

I'm going to go try to input this on Icabod's site now.

I will be going on a “tree hunt” in northwest Jersey for a few days next week.
(I heard a rumor that there are a few trees up there that are actually larger than 6 inches in diameter)
I will bring my GPS unit and if by chance I spot some good climbers that seem discrete and reasonably legal, I’ll feed you the data.

That is, if your still compiling…

In the mean time I’ll be inputting some sample coordinates into your site for reasons of sheer curiosity.

Good deal. I've seriously neglected that in the last few months. Work has demanded alot from me, and I've not yet done all I wanted. I will say though that I have been contacted by a press member in our area that found the site, and hopefully we will be getting some good press in the not too distant future. I got to get to work on that.

Sorry I have not gotten back to you on those GPS coordinates I was blabbing about last month. My ongoing search for “Great Climbable Trees of New Jersey” was a tad uneventful last week.

I’ll upload to your site soon as I do the conversions.

Well, actually, there a number of good climbers in N.J.
The problem is I'm only going to give up the locations that I feel a person could climb without getting shot at or having your car stripped to the frame while you are 200 yards away climbing a tree.

Yeah I did an all nighter on the website before the article came out about us. I only got about 30 some hits, and noone went to the message board, oh well. Perhaps the time is not right to build a community in North Carolina.

Being a railroad worker in the metro area, I can tell ya some rather interesting stories. However, my father-in-law worked as a telephone lineman in Newark for 35 years. Needless to say, his "stories" beat my "stories" any day!
