Hi Jimi,

I live in Rockville, MD and would love to try treeclimbing! Read the Washington Post article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2003/10/12/AR2005041501607.html
Are you still willing to give free lessons?

Kat

Hi Jimi, Kat, and Bridget. Are you all still trying to start a tree-climbing club? I've never done it with equipment but would love to start.

To Treeman Jimi -

I've been climbing for 4 months. Just returned from a SRT climb with Pacific Tree Climbing Institute in 200' Douglas Firs.

I'd be interested in meeting other climbers in the WDC area and taking lessons.:)

Hi all,

I'm going to get a starter tree climbing kit in a few months. Has anyone gotten together and climbed yet? I can't wait to start...already have some great trees picked out. Hope to hear from you.

I'll be in the DC area this July and will have my gear with me. I'd love to climb with someone on July 21-22, 2007.

Any takers?

Geof

Hi, DC-area folks -

I see that this message thread was started a couple of years back, but I hope some of you are still in the DC area and perhaps have even formed a solid tree-climbing network 'round here. I admit, I haven't tree-climbed before (well, not like this), but I'd love to learn more about the sport, give it a go and meet up with climbers who live in the DC/MD/VA vicinity.

Hope to hear from you!

Hello Wanderlisa,
I started a grove in the Baltimore/Ellicott city area and have many great trees to share as well as an awesome group of friends who love to climb. Always on the lookout for the next tree to explore. Know of any trees in your area you may want to climb?

Noticed this was a very old post but I'm looking for some climbers in the VA area. I'm about an hour and a half from DC but am up there a lot visiting family. Any climbers out there interested in someone else tagging along?

Hey El Gallo,
Just got your email and will reply there as well. Would love to have you join us. We are climbing a 150ft. sycamore called The Mother in the Patapsco state park on sat. Just got the blessing from the park service to climb there. Maybe treeboating that night just outside of Ellicott City in my favorite white oak named The Witness. You are more than welcome to join us. The weekend of sept. 22-23 we are doing a charity fundraising climb for Trees for the Future. They are a great organization that helps plant trees all over the world and are based in DC. To date they claim to have planted over 50 million trees worldwide Check out their website.
Call me if you like so we can arrange a time and meeting place. We are about 45min. north of downtown DC. My cell is 443-829-3661. Thanks, Bob

I'm replying to this post even though it is quite old, but I live in Baltimore and have been climbing for years. Used to climb in Annapolis when I lived there. Anyone that replied to this post originally still out there?

Action Figure Bob - Are you still out there and climbing? I was intrigued by your post regarding Patapsco.
